Ms. Thandi Hambira is currently employed as Manager: Rules of Origin at NamRA. before that, she held the position of Deputy Director, responsible for central operations within the Ministry of Finance, Directorate of Customs and Excise.
She served in various portfolios under the Directorate Customs and Excise over the past 28 years. She played a pivotal role in the restructuring of the Directorate Custom and Excise. She equally served as a Task Team Member responsible for the preparation and establishment of NamRA, similarly, she represented the Directorate Customs and Excise on various national committees. As Customs Scanner Project Manager she was instrumental in the installation, implementation, and operation of the nonintrusive security scanners at all major Namibian harbors, airports, and border posts.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Management College of Southern Africa – RSA, a Master’s Degree in Customs Administration from Charles Sturt University in Australia, and a National Diploma in Public Administration obtained from the Polytechnic of Namibia now Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST).
